New neighborhood center “Scharnweber 75” opens in Reinickendorf

The “Scharnweber 75” neighborhood center in Reinickendorf was officially opened on Friday, February 21. This was announced by the Reinickendorf district office. The new meeting point, which is located on the street of the same name, is intended to offer residents a space for exchange and encounters. The location is financially supported as part of the “Federal Social Cohesion Program,” with one third of the funds coming from the federal government and two thirds from the state of Berlin.
Through cooperation with the housing association Gewobag, the premises were renovated and are now available to Beteiligungsfüchse, a non-profit organization that provides child and youth services. Gewobag announced a comprehensive renovation. The neighborhood center will offer a variety of activities in the future, including sports and cooking courses, cultural events, training courses and neighborhood festivals.
